Technology and Research

We utilise cutting-edge technology to achieve phenomenally high resolution, superb balance, absolute neutrality and unparalleled realism. Our cables are designed and built to create the optimum path for electrons (delicate electrical audio signal) to oscillate between audio components, with maximally limited interference. We have made a significant investment in equipment, research and development to advance the capabilities of our hybrid metal conductors. Our goal was to move beyond the highly acclaimed high-end silver variants, which often sound bright, harsh and edgy, leading to listening fatigue and a false perception of increased detail. We aimed for the best of both worlds!

Hybrid Conductor (wire)

A proprietary blend of highly refined precious metals is cryogenically and thermally treated in order to align the molecules in a more uniform and compact matrix, further improving electron flow. The hybrid metal combination enables us to take advantage of their unique individual electrical properties for different frequency bands. All this, and the careful geometric orientation of these custom conductors allows us to achieve something very special in the audio world >>> breathtaking micro detail, balance, exceptional control across all frequencies, neutral tonality and realistic timbre. A definitive perception of depth, placement and clear separation of instrumental and vocal sources (including very ‘busy’ music), are rendered precisely throughout the immense soundstage. Finally, an ultra-black background enhances all of these outstanding features.

The precious metal laden hybrid conductors account for a large portion of the actual cable cost, some of which cost almost a hundred times that of pure silver.

Connectors

We wanted to highlight some key differences in the high-end cable market. You might be aware that many of our competitors use basic and relatively inexpensive connectors, costing as little as $10 each from brands like Neutrik, yet market their cables as ‘high-end’ with significant price tags. Additionally, many other ‘high-end’ manufacturers use Tellurium Copper for their pins to make machining easier. However, this addition to the copper base metal (main metal under the plating) reduces conductivity. We also note that other cheap base metals (eg. brass) are used for the pins which have poor conductivity. This raises questions about the actual value that customers receive. At Angel Acoustics, we take a different approach - we use connectors of exceptional quality, high-performance capabilities, and synergistic compatibility with the overall cable design and materials. Our pins are spring loaded (XLR female) to prevent loose connections and ensure consistent optimal contact. Our pins are made from OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) 99.99% and plated in 24K Gold to prevent oxidation and contact degradation.

Protection against EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) and RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) is of the utmost importance for interconnect cables, as these can severely damage the delicate audio signal. A MIL-SPEC copper braid with a proprietary plating and aerospace copper foil protects the delicate electrical audio signals from being contaminated and modified by external interferences.

Again, this is where many other cable manufacturers cut corners.
