Technology and Research

We utilise cutting-edge technology to achieve high resolution, superb balance across the entire frequency range, neutrality, and true-to-life sound. Our cables are designed and built to create the optimum path for electrons (delicate electrical audio signal) to propagate between audio components, with limited interference. We have made a significant investment in equipment, research and development to advance the capabilities of our hybrid metal conductors. While pure silver can offer excellent resolution, it can sometimes emphasise brightness. We developed a hybrid conductor approach to deliver high detail with a more natural tonal balance and reduced listening fatigue.

Conductor

The conductor is made from a custom blend of highly refined OCC 6N Copper, pure silver, 24K gold, graphene and other precious metals. The hybrid metal combination enables us to take advantage of their unique individual electrical properties for different frequency bands. All this, and the double helix conductor geometry for XLRs and similar strand geometry for RCAs, allows us to achieve something very special in the audio world >>> micro detail, razor-sharp leading edges, overall balance, good control across all frequencies, neutral tonality and realistic timbre. A definitive perception of depth, placement and clear separation of instrumental and vocal sources (including very ‘busy’ music), are rendered precisely throughout the immense soundstage. Finally, an ultra-black background enhances all of these outstanding features.

The precious metal laden hybrid conductors account for a large portion of the actual cable cost, some of which cost almost a hundred times that of pure silver.

Connectors

At Angel Acoustics, we use connectors that are engineered for quality and high-performance. Our XLR pins are spring loaded and our RCA pins have a screw-type securing mechanism to prevent loose connections and ensure consistent optimal contact. Our pins are made from OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) 99.99% and plated in 24K Gold to prevent oxidation and contact degradation.

Shielding

Protection against EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) and RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) is of the utmost importance for interconnect cables, as these can severely damage the delicate audio signal. This especially applies to RCA interconnect cables, which do not have the same advantages as XLR interconnect cables and their balancing circuit designs, which are specifically designed to reduce external interferences. A MIL-SPEC copper braid with a custom plating and in addition, an aerospace copper foil protects the delicate electrical audio signals from being contaminated and modified by external interferences.
